DISASTER RESILIENCE EnGen Institute’s R&D and projects develop Disaster Resilience Technology with higher levels of survival, resilience and regeneration than the technologies and methods currently in place. Current civil disaster resilience technology has major short-comings in three aspects – Firstly, technical solutions are hazard specific (e.g. either fire or earthquake or hurricane but not all three) and not integrated for multi-hazard resilience. Secondly, current disaster resilience systems often don’t protect life support systems. Thirdly, current disaster management systems do not plan for or have technology to provide restitution of built structures and infrastructure in an integrated, efficient, rapid manner.
